These spoons are made entirely by hand, using only an axe and two types of knife.
Wodwo don’t sand the spoons, the finish is created by a very sharp knife which makes the spoons more durable than a sanded finish, and also leaves a reminder of the process.
Some of the spoons have a splash of colour - milk paint is used for this, which contains a milk protein, but is non-toxic, food-safe and durable. The spoons are finished with hemp oil, which hardens to produce a durable coating.
Lighter grained are Sycamore and Birch
Darker grained are Cherry Wood
Not dishwasher safe.
Wodwo is Ivan and Becky - who are currently based in Hampshire and spend as much of their time as they can crafting spoons and other useful items from freshly cut wood, which we source either from local tree surgeons or from sustainable woodland management.
